July 25, 2020I use japan all the time. After 2 years i have mastered things. You may think its cheap but it soon add up. Firstly its a fragile console that the dvd drive is prone to fail. Buying one without seeing it working isnt worth the risk. If it doesnt show working then i just dont bother. There isnt many on yahoo japan right now anyway. If you find one, Then you are looking at maybe £10 internal shipping then if you didnt package with other items you could be looking at another £5-10 packaging fee. Then maybe £50+ shipping to the uk or alot more if you want it fast. They tend to pack well which makes it heavy. Then almost certainly customs which on a £200 item would be maybe £50+. Then you have no guarantee, if it doesnt work you cant do alot. I mean i may try and get one and help you out but i wouldnt suggest a newbie to dive into it as a first purchase.
Kev Young
July 25, 2020You can get stuff cheaper. But all the fees add up then customs. They are not that cheap even in japan.

July 25, 2020There is a seller on eBay selling Earthbound Repros for $32 U.S. and $9.60 shipping, called newgamezforless. Cart only. Earthbound is Mother 2 , which you can get Mother 1&2 with English translation on one cart for the Gameboy Advance. I paid $25 U..S. with a custom hard case about a year ago. Great video, good luck !!

July 25, 2020Hi Gemma ive imported lots of gaming stuff from japan yahoo auctions using a site called buyee.
It acts as a proxy service where they bid for you on the items and is posted to there warehouse in japan and from there they willl store it for like a month and then you can buy more things sent to there japan warehouse which they will bundle together and post in one box to the uk. Ive had a look and there is a panasonic Q for sale atm but i think this one for some reason wont accept a bid.
https://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/h488672840
Its a great service but the price does add up… you have to add domestic japan shipping..international shipping..possibly 20% import tax and they buyee service charge..but you can get stuff you never see in the uk..hope this helps 🙂

July 25, 2020Panasonic Q looks horrible, dated and you’ll never use it. I wouldn’t bother, invest that money into a series x, PS4 games, steam, something you will actually use and get value from rather than just sitting on a shelf collecting dust. Each to their own though…
Mark Vegan
July 25, 2020Hi Gemma, cant wait for the amiga vid .I got an amiga 600 on order from amiga passion after ur recommendation..crack on with that vid love x
DigitalSt0rm
July 25, 2020Have you tried Sendico Japan for the Panasonic Q? You can bid on Japanese auctions and the items get sent to them, then when you are ready they will ship them to you for a small price.
Sander Emdrie
July 25, 2020Be careful buying a cheap Cube. A lot of them are broken. Especially the board. When this happens, it's almost impossible to repair. And it's a nightmare to take the thing apart.
Before buying one, test ALL the functions and buttons for a while, to make sure.
paul doake
July 25, 2020Best of luck finding one decently priced. If we're me I'd do a load of trade in fodder. Sure it doesn't matter what it is or were you sauce from as long as it's all stuff that costs between 10p to £1. Might need a van though.

July 25, 2020Just as a recap, what is the Omega series you are doing again? Great video!

July 25, 2020Great video Gemma! For the Q you can also try https://www.mercari.com/jp/ which is a similar thing to Facebook market but in Japan only. I think buyee also works there as it will be needed to send the stuff out to here. Also there is a chap called Allan McCluskey running a shop here in the UK which has loads of stuff from Japan. I'm sure you must have seen him in gaming markets. If I'm not mistaken he has had the Q before. Not Japan price of course but not bad at all and already here.
Good luck with the hunt!
Noukey
July 25, 2020Great video! I reccomend u just get earthbound cart only and then later get the box and manual for it if there are people near u selling them for a good price (or ebay)
Judges Altar
July 25, 2020You can use yahoo auctions Japan or I use Buyee. I got my psx from there it was boxed so well too.
Paul Turner
July 25, 2020Yep, another shout out for seeing if you can get tips & advice from "The Retro Future" on shopping Japan, he is a bit of a master at finding really nice stuff on Japan auction sites through Sendico. Happy hunting!
Chloe S
July 25, 2020I want to wish you luck with the Panasonic Q I hope you'll be able to get one at the right price.
Patrick Furlong
July 25, 2020Another fantastic video Gem. I'm keeping an eye open for you too
Steve Cain
July 25, 2020There is a Panasonic Q currently on Yahoo auctions which currently sits at just under £300 (excluding shipping) on Yahoo Auctions. Here's the link via Sendico, the firm that will help with Yahoo auctions & shipping to the UK. The only issue is it's listed as "junk". My experience with "junk" items is they are usually working ok with only cosmetic issues or not all leads are included.

I ended up playing £500.
